Pentangle: Feoffees' Lands

Jazz-folkies Pentangle get seriously laid-back on this mellow collection which takes several age-old folk favourites (Banks Of The Nile, Sovay, Two Magicians) and gives them a smoky, chilled out treatment spiced by the addition of guest musicians most notably the wailing electric guitar of Martin Barre from Jethro Tull.

There are also straight jazzy numbers, all topped off with the classy vocals of band leader Jacqui McShee. Smart stuff, and a sound combination that remains unique after more than 30 years in business.
