Folk band turns to the jazz tradition

With traditional music becoming more popular once more, Jacqui McShee and her band, Pentangle, have released their album Feoffees' Lands (an old spelling 0f fief) on GJS Records.
They are one of the finest ambassadors of the English folk tradition, but this album is a clever mix of folk and jazz influences, produced by McShee, drummer Gerry Conway and multi-instrumentalist Spencer Cozens.
It contains the traditional offerings Banks Of The Nile and Broomfield Hill, plus offerings written by the three of them and singer songwriter David Hughes, performed with a light modern jazz touch which is calculated to widen their appeal yet further. It looks set to sell and sell - FJC.
